As a member of the Swedish Association for Applied Linguistics, you support ASLA’s work to promote linguistic research related to practical language problems and challenges in society, as well as to inform about such research and contribute to the dissemination of research results. This is done, among other things, through a symposium run every two years as well as through ASLA’s publication series. Since 2016, ASLA has also been actively working to support the younger generation of applied linguists by awarding a prize for the best master’s thesis or degree project submitted at an advanced level at a Swedish university. The prize is awarded biennially in connection with the ASLA symposia.
